Transit Riders, Drivers Brace for Influx of Amazon Employees

Commuters beware! New York’s clogged streets and creaky subway systems are about to feel more pain as about 25,000 more people descend upon Long Island City where Amazon will open its new headquarters.

You would think NY, which moves more than 8 million people every day on its subway, bus and commuter lines, should be able to simply absorb 25,000 more people, but experts disagree, saying congestion will get worse and buses will be slower.

The good news? A lot of jobs will be created…and perhaps residents of NY will get their packages even faster!
